This blog chronicles Mary and Ryan's westward journey to Portland, Oregon. Our entries will begin as we head 2,300 miles to the Pacific Northwest, and we will then continue to document our new lives in Oregon.

Hiking Wygant Trail in Early February
Hi everyone,
Here are some pictures from our hike. For more pictures of our hike, click here: WYGANT TRAIL.
I've heard the weather in the Midwest was unusually warm these past few days. It has also been nice here in Oregon, so on Saturday, we decided to go on a hike. We drove out along the Columbia River and decided on a trail near Hood River, Oregon. On the drive eastward, the clear sky made Mt. Hood, Mt. St. Helens and Mt. Adams visible along the way.

Happy Inauguration Day!
Hi family and friends,
I wanted to wish you and yours a Happy Inauguration Day! Both Ryan and I were able to watch the inauguration during work. Ryan streamed it on his computer and my firm set up one of the TVs from our testing lab in our break room and my colleagues and I gathered around, some of us with teary eyes, and watched President Obama get sworn in.
I hope you all got to experience history in the making today.
On a far less monumental note, my bio and picture were recently added to my company's Web site. Here's the link if you'd like to check it out: http://www.nereus-worldwide.com/mary-slonske.html. With the state of the economy, Ryan and I are truly thankful to have jobs right now that we enjoy and that are providing us with excellent experience.
Hope you are all doing well. We'll post more pictures soon!
